Industries We Serve
Compliant Employment. Provincial Accuracy. No Canadian Entity Required.
Hire Canadian Workers Confidently & Compliantly
Every industry has its own hiring challenges, compensation structures, and compliance concerns.
A tech company scaling an engineering team across three provinces faces different payroll and contract requirements than a manufacturing business hiring a site supervisor in Alberta. A consulting firm protecting IP across borders has different priorities than a company onboarding its first Canadian remote employee.
What Stays The Same Is This:
I you are hiring in Canada without a Canadian entity, the employment relationship needs to be set up correctly. Provincial employment standards need to be followed. CRA remittances need to be filed accurately. Employment contracts need to reflect the specific rules of the province where each employee works.
As your Employer of Record, we become the legal employer of your Canadian team members. We handle employment contracts, payroll, tax remittances, benefits, and compliance with federal and provincial employment law.
You manage their work.
We carry the legal and administrative responsibility.
Technology
Tech companies scale fast and often need employees across multiple provinces. We handle the compliance complexity that comes with it, including equity and stock option reporting, province-specific employment contracts, and accurate CRA remittances.
Whether you are hiring one developer or building a distributed engineering team, every employee is onboarded compliantly with the correct provincial standards applied from day one.
Sales & Revenue Teams
Sales roles come with commission structures, bonus plans, and variable compensation that need to be processed correctly under Canadian Payroll rules.
We set up employment contracts and payroll that handle base salary, commissions, and performance pay accurately across every province. Your reps get paid correctly. CRA gets the right filings. You focus on revenue.
Industrial & Manufacturing
Operational roles often involve overtime, shift premiums, statutory holiday pay, and workers compensation. Provincial rules govern how each of these is calculated.
We ensure every hire is compliant with the employment standards and health and safety requirements of the province where they work, with accurate payroll that reflects overtime, shift-based pay, and statutory entitlements.
Consulting & Professional Services
Professional services firms need employment arrangements that protect intellectual property, client relationships, and competitive position.
We draft employment contracts that include confidentiality, IP assignment, and non-solicitation clauses that reflect Canadian enforceability standards. Payroll includes RRSP matching, supplementary benefits, and performance bonuses processed accurately under provincial rules.
Remote & Distributed Workforces
When your team is spread across provinces, every employee is subject to the employment standards of the province where they work, not where your company is based.
We manage employment contracts, payroll, and compliance for each jurisdiction, including mid-year changes when employees relocate. No visa required for Canadian citizens and permanent residents working in Canada.
What We Handle
This is not a platform you log into. We do the work, and we take responsibility for getting it right.
Compliance and Risk Management
We ensure every employment relationship complies with the applicable federal or provincial employment legislation. That includes proper employment contracts, correct statutory deductions, lawful termination processes, and compliance with human rights and privacy legislation. When rules change, we update your employees’ arrangements accordingly.
Payroll Accuracy and Remittances
We calculate gross-to-net pay for every employee and apply the correct federal and provincial deductions. CPP, EI, income tax, and any applicable provincial levies are all covered. We remit everything to the CRA and provincial authorities on schedule. Employees are paid in Canadian dollars. Payslips are compliant and issued every pay period.
Employment Contracts
Every employee receives a contract drafted for their specific province of work. These are not templates with a province name swapped in. They reflect the actual statutory minimums, notice periods, and benefit entitlements required under local law.
Benefits Administration
We set up and manage supplementary benefits including group health and dental plans, vision coverage, RRSP matching, life insurance, and disability coverage. Canada’s public healthcare system covers hospital and physician services, but does not cover dental, vision, prescription drugs, paramedical services, mental health support, or disability. These are employer-provided through supplementary plans, and we administer them alongside payroll.
Onboarding and Offboarding
New employees can often be onboarded within one to three business days once documentation is complete. When someone leaves, we handle the termination process in accordance with provincial law, issue the Record of Employment, and manage any statutory obligations.
Already Have A Canadian Entity?
If your company already has a Canadian legal entity, you may not need EOR. We offer two other services that might be a better fit.
Bridgewater TI Managed Payroll Service
We run your Canadian Payroll end to end. Pay processing, tax remittances, T4 filings, provincial compliance, and reporting. You keep full control of the employment relationship. We handle the payroll operations.
Professional Employer Organization (PEO)
A co-employment arrangement where we share employer responsibilities with your entity. This is a fit if you want to offload HR, benefits administration, and compliance management beyond just payroll.
Not sure which model applies? That is what the initial call is for.
